Eda Shrine According to Japanese mythology, after Izanagi finally returned from Yomi No Kuni (Hades or the Land of the Dead), he cleansed himself in what is now Misogi Pond. At that time, the Shinto gods Amaterasu No Mikami, Tsukuyomi No Mikoto, and Susano-o No Mikoto were born. In a nearby pine grove stands the oldest shrine in Miyazaki Prefecture, the tranquil, solitary Eda Shrine, which is dedicated to both Izanagi and Izana.

In this area, the local residents have set up a place called Yamazaki Hotarupia, where one can see several rare plants and many kinds of dragonfly.

From April through late May, you can see many fireflies here, too.

Created using natural underground springs here, this park of fountains and murmuring streams is a perfect place for children to play. Adults can relax at the alcove while watching their children play. The grounds, colored by flowers and greenery, makes for a wonderful stroll. In the southern part, there are tennis courts, a soccer ground, and a multi-purpose square.
J-League Camp

There is a part of the Entrance Plaza with almost perfect turf. It is here that the J-League Camp is held every year. For the 2002 FIFA World Cup, this ground passed the strict standards of the Japan Organizing Committee for the World Cup (JAWOC) and was used as the German team's camp.
