There are various types of garbage: Burnable, Non-burnable, Recyclable, Bulk, etc., each of which has predetermined collection date(s) and rules.
When you take the garbage out, be sure to properly follow the rules.
1 The garbage segregation application "three-R" is very convenient.

2 How to take out garbage
(1) Basic rules for taking out the garbage in Miyazaki City
[1] Garbage should be taken out by 8:30 in the morning.
- Bring the garbage to the designated area by 8:30 a.m. on the collection date.
- The collection time may change depending on the schedule and amount of collection for the day.
[2] Garbage collection dates vary depending on the area you live in.
- The garbage collection date differs depending on the type of garbage and the area where you live.
- Check the collection schedule of your area with the collection schedule calendar. Collection schedule calendar (English / Chinese / Korean / Vietnamese)
- Download the garbage segregation application "three-R" and you will be notified of the weekly collection schedule.
[3] Use the bag designated by Miyazaki City.
- When you take out Burnable and Non-burnable garbage, be sure to use the Miyazaki City designated garbage bags. Garbage bags are commercially available at supermarkets and convenience stores.
[4] You can take out up to five bags of garbage.
- Take out up to five bags of garbage at a time.
- If you want to take out six or more bags of garbage at a time, bring it directly to the Eco Clean Plaza Miyazaki or ask a professional collector.
[5] Garbage should be brought to the designated area.
- The garbage collection points are managed by residents’ associations. For information regarding your garbage collection point, ask your neighbors or the residents’ association in your area.
- If your apartment or condominium has a garbage collection point for residents, please use it.
[6] If you take out garbage in violation of the rules, the city will not pick it up.
- If you take it out in violation of the rules, the city will not pick it up.
- The garbage collector will place a sticker on the garbage, so please retrieve it home and then take it out again according to the rules.

(2) How to take out Burnable Garbage
- The city collects Burnable Garbage twice a week.
- Use the red garbage bag designated by Miyazaki City.
- The Burnable Garbage includes the following items:(Example) Raw garbage, leather, rubber and plastic products, cloth, waste paper, pruned branches, etc.
(3) How to take out Non-burnable Garbage
- The city collects Non-burnable Garbage once a month.
- Use the blue garbage bag designated by Miyazaki City.
- The Non-Burnable Garbage includes the following items:(Example) Ceramics, glass, dangerous materials (kitchen knives, light bulbs, razors, etc.), household appliances, aluminum foil, etc.

Please wrap dangerous materials, broken ceramics, etc. in paper and write "キケン" on it before taking out.
(4) How to take out Metal
- The city collects Metal once a month.
- Put them in a colorless transparent or semi-transparent plastic bag of 45 L or less and take it out.
- “Metal” refer to things mostly made of metal with a metal plate thickness of less than 5 mm. (Example) Pans, food cans (20 cm or more), spray cans, other cans, microwave ovens or stoves, etc.
(5) How to take out Plastic Containers/Packaging
- The city collects Plastic Containers/Packaging once a week.
- Put them in a colorless transparent or semi-transparent plastic bag of 45 L or less and take it out.
- The Plastic Containers/Packaging to be collected are those with the plastic mark as shown on the right and cushioning materials, such as polystyrene foam and air cushion used to protect goods.
(Example) Polystyrene foam, plastic bags, packs/cups, bottles, cushioning materials, films, etc. - Rinse them lightly or wipe off any dirt.
(6) How to take out Plastic Bottles
- The city collects Plastic Bottles twice a month.
- Put them in a colorless transparent or semi-transparent plastic bag of 45 L or less and take it out.
- The Plastic Bottles to be collected are those with the mark shown on the right and plastic bottles for beverages, soy sauce, mirin, etc. that are colorless and transparent.
- Color Plastic Bottles are classified as Burnable Garbage even with the mark shown on the right.
- When taking out a Plastic Bottle, remove the cap and label, wash the inside lightly, and put it in a bag without crushing it.
- The cap and label are classified as Plastic Containers/Packaging.
(7) How to take out Empty Cans and Bottles
- The width, length, height and diameter must be all less than 20 cm.
- Large cans, spray cans, and gas cartridges are classified as Metal.Please completely use the contents of spray cans and puncture a hole in them.
- For the lids or caps of Empty Cans or Bottles, metal ones are classified as Non-burnable Garbage while plastic ones as Plastic Containers/Packaging or Burnable Garbage.
(8) How to take out Clothing and Used Paper
- The city collects Clothing and Used Paper four times a month.
- Put them in a colorless transparent or semi-transparent plastic bag of 45 L or less and take it out.
- Tie Used Paper with a string by type before disposing of it.

The following are types of Used Paper:Newspapers, cardboard, miscellaneous paper (magazines, flyers, paper bags), paper cartons, etc.

Please remove plastic and other non-paper materials before taking out.
(9) Other garbage
- Besides the garbage listed in (2) to (8), we still have the categories of Other Recyclable Garbage, Used Small Home Appliances, Bulk Garbage, each of which has predetermined collection rules.
